Email from OptionsPro

The emails OptionsPro sends - what each sequence is, what starts and stops it, and how to turn them off.

OptionsPro sends a small number of emails, and all of them are tied to where your account is in its lifecycle: you signed up, you started a trial, the trial is about to bill, you canceled. Nothing is sent on a daily or weekly cadence, and nothing is sent about individual trades.

Every email comes from the OptionsPro Suite team, to the address on your account, and carries a Manage your email preferences link in the footer - see Turning them off.

Email is never the system of record. Anything an email tells you about your plan, your trial, or your next charge is also in Settings → Billing, which reads live from Stripe.

The sequences

You're in at most one of these at a time, and the first email of a sequence arrives a few minutes after whatever started it.

After you sign up for a free account

Five emails over about three weeks, introducing what a free account already does and what a subscription adds:

#WhenWhat it covers
1A few minutes after sign-upWhat your free account does.
23 days laterRecording why you traded, not just what.
34 days laterA side-by-side of what free and Pro each cover.
47 days laterHow traders who've outgrown spreadsheets work.
57 days laterThe trial is still open, and what to expect of it.

Starting a trial ends this sequence early - the trial sequence below takes over. Subscribing directly on a paid plan, with no trial, doesn't put you in that sequence: there's no trial for it to narrate.

While you're on a trial

Seven emails spread across the 7-day trial and the week after it, walking through the features the trial unlocked: the dashboard, the journal, strategy grouping and filters, then where the trial stands and what happens next. The last one goes out a week after the trial ends, and is skipped if you've recorded a trade by then - it exists to help accounts that never got started.

The trial-ending reminder

Separate from that sequence, and the one email to read carefully: a single notice stating the date your trial ends and the amount that will be charged. It's driven by Stripe rather than a timer, so the date and the figure are the real ones, and it isn't sent at all if your trial is already set to cancel - in that case nothing will be charged.

While this reminder is active it replaces the trial sequence's own "wraps up" and "ends tomorrow" notes, so you get one billing reminder with one date rather than several that might disagree.

To stop the charge, cancel before the trial ends from the Stripe customer portal - Manage Billing in Settings → Billing. See Trials.

After a trial ends without converting

Two emails: a check-in shortly afterward, and one more a week later.

After a paid subscription is canceled

Three emails: a confirmation of the cancellation, then follow-ups about two weeks and about six weeks later.

What OptionsPro does not email you

  • No per-trade or per-fill email. Syncs, imports, expirations and assignments are reported in the app, not in your inbox.
  • No daily or weekly digest of your positions or results.
  • No expiration or assignment-risk alerts.
  • Nothing containing your broker credentials, account numbers, or individual trade rows. If an email claiming to be from OptionsPro asks for any of those, it isn't from us - forward it to support@optionspro.com and don't reply to it.

Transactional messages from the services OptionsPro uses are a separate matter: your identity provider sends sign-in and email-verification messages, and Stripe sends receipts and failed-payment notices for your subscription. Those aren't part of the sequences above and aren't covered by the unsubscribe below.

Turning them off

Every email footer carries a Manage your email preferences link. One unsubscribe - whether you use that link or your mail client's own one-click unsubscribe - stops every kind of OptionsPro email, not just the sequence you clicked from:

  • Any sequence you're in stops immediately, mid-way through.
  • No later lifecycle event re-enrolls you. Starting a trial, canceling, or resubscribing after you've unsubscribed won't start a new sequence.

The opt-out is permanent from your side - there's no toggle in Settings to switch these back on. If you unsubscribed and want the account emails back, ask Support.

Unsubscribing changes nothing about your account: your plan, your trial, your data and your access are untouched, and your subscription still renews or ends exactly as it would have. Billing notices from Stripe continue either way.

  • Subscription - plans, trials, and what the trial-ending reminder is warning you about.
  • Settings - your live plan and billing status.
  • Support - how to reach a person.
