Free and Pro tiers - what each includes, how to upgrade, and how billing works.
OptionsPro is freemium. The free tier covers manual journaling and the core data views; Pro unlocks brokerage connections and the analytics layer that sits on top of them.
Tiers
Free
- Dashboard, Calendar, Trades, Positions, Stocks - the core data views.
- Profit Calculator - model hypothetical positions.
- Manual trade entry - add trades that aren't tied to a brokerage.
- Trade Import - bulk-import trades via the AI wizard, up to 500 trades total, lifetime.
Pro
Everything in Free, plus:
- Brokerage connections via SnapTrade - every supported broker.
- Portfolios - group trades into named buckets.
- Strategies page - automatic detection and grouping of multi-leg positions. Group-by-strategy view on the Positions page is also Pro-only.
- Trends - P&L and win rate broken down by weekday, hour of day, and days to expiration.
- Risk & Insights - key risk indicators, win/loss & streak analysis, portfolio Greeks, and the embedded AI assistant.
- Unlimited Trade Import - no cap on AI-powered bulk imports from CSV, Excel, PDF, text files, and screenshots. Free accounts get the same wizard capped at 500 trades lifetime; see Trade Import.
Upgrading
- Click the gold Go Pro button in the top header (or any in-app upgrade card) to open the Go Pro page.
- Pick Monthly or Yearly and continue to the Stripe-hosted checkout. Current pricing is shown on the Go Pro page.
- Complete payment. Pro features unlock as soon as you return.
Managing your subscription
In Settings → Billing you can:
- See your current plan, status, and next renewal (or access-until) date.
- Click Manage Billing to open the Stripe customer portal, where you can update payment methods, change plans, view invoices, or cancel.
If you're on the free tier the section instead shows a Go Pro button.
Trials
First-time users are eligible for a 7-day free Pro trial. The trial starts at checkout and a payment method is required up front - if no payment method is on file when the trial ends, the subscription is canceled automatically. You can cancel any time before the trial ends from the Stripe customer portal to avoid being charged. Each account is eligible for one trial.
If a payment fails
When a renewal payment is declined, the subscription moves to Past Due and Pro access pauses immediately - not at the end of the period. Brokerage syncing, portfolios, Strategies, Trends, and Risk & Insights all stop being available while the payment is outstanding.
To make sure that isn't a mystery, a "We couldn't process your payment" dialog appears once per app load while your subscription is past due. It offers Update payment method, which opens the same Stripe customer portal as Settings → Billing, and Not now, which dismisses it for that page load.
Nothing is deleted at this stage. Your account, trade history, manual entries, imports, dashboard, calendar, and positions all keep working, and every Pro feature comes back as soon as a payment succeeds. Stripe retries the card over the following couple of weeks; if it keeps failing, the subscription is canceled and the section below applies.
What happens when Pro ends
Whether you cancel deliberately or the subscription lapses after failed payments, the sequence is the same:
- Pro features switch off. Cancellations you schedule yourself keep access until the end of the paid period (Settings shows the Access Until date); a failed payment pauses them straight away, as above.
- The subscription is closed out. That's the end of the paid period for a scheduled cancellation, or the point where Stripe gives up retrying a failed card. A grace period - 14 days by default - starts here, during which your brokerage connections are left in place. Resubscribing at any point in that window cancels the cleanup, and nothing is lost.
- Brokerage connections are then removed. Once the grace period passes without a resubscription, each connected brokerage is disconnected and deleted exactly as if you'd disconnected it by hand. That includes the accounts under it and every trade and stock holding imported from those accounts - see Disconnecting a brokerage for the full list.
Broker-synced trades are deleted with the connection. Trades you entered by hand or brought in through Trade Import are never deleted, and neither are your portfolios, which simply become empty if every trade in them came from a broker.
If you resubscribe after the cleanup has run, reconnecting the broker does a one-time full backfill of its available history, so the trades come back - but anything you layered on top of them (fee overrides, portfolio assignments, notes) does not. Export or reconcile anything you can't afford to lose before letting a subscription lapse.
