Bulk Actions

Select many rows at once and act on all of them - assign trades to a portfolio, override fees, delete holdings, refresh brokerages, or group positions into a strategy.

Most of the tables in OptionsPro support multi-select: tick a checkbox on one or more rows, and a selection bar appears above the table with the actions that apply to what you picked. It's the fastest way to reassign a month of trades to a portfolio, clear out holdings you no longer want, or refresh several brokerage connections in one step.

Multi-select is being rolled out gradually and isn't enabled for every organization yet. If a table described here has no checkboxes for you, bulk actions aren't available on your account. The checkboxes on Positions and Strategies are the exception - they come with custom strategy grouping rather than with bulk actions, so you can have one without the other.

How selection works

  • Per row - click a data row's checkbox. Account sub-rows on Brokerages and portfolio header rows on Stocks are not selectable. Trades group headers control their child rows rather than counting as individual trades.
  • Per group - on Trades, group-header checkboxes select their child trades; on Positions, a strategy checkbox selects its child positions. Stocks portfolio headers have no selection checkbox. A parent checkbox reflects its children.
  • The whole page - the checkbox in the table header selects every row on the current page.
  • Everything matching your filters - the selection bar's Select all button extends the selection past the current page to every row matching the active filters, and the bar switches to reading All N selected. It's capped at 10,000 rows; above that the button is disabled and asks you to narrow the filters first.
  • Clear empties the selection and hides the bar.

The bar always reports the count in the units of the table you're on - trades on Trades, positions on Positions, holdings on Stocks - which matters in the grouped views, where selecting one strategy row can select many underlying rows.

Select-all-matching is available only where the table supplies a full matching count. Stocks offers it in Ungrouped view, not Group by Portfolio. Selecting all does not override action-specific restrictions below.

Before anything is deleted

Destructive actions always open a confirmation dialog naming the count first, and large batches are applied in chunks with a progress readout, so a bulk delete of hundreds of rows reports how far along it is rather than appearing to hang. None of these deletions can be undone - a bulk delete is the same delete as the single-row action, run many times.

Per-page notes

Trades

Assign to Portfolio, Override Fee, and Delete apply to every selected trade. Broker-imported trades can't be deleted, and that's enforced when the delete runs rather than at selection time, so a mixed selection deletes the manual trades and leaves the broker-sourced ones in place. Group into Strategy works on whole positions, so any other trades in the selected positions come along - the modal says so before you confirm. See Trades.

Positions and Strategies

Only Group into Strategy is offered on either page, and every selected row has to be on the same underlying. The minimum selection differs between them:

  • Positions - one position is enough. A new group still needs two legs, so with a single position selected the only thing the modal can do is add it to a strategy you already have on that underlying.
  • Strategies - at least two strategies.

See Custom Strategy Grouping.

Stocks

Assign to Portfolio works on manual and brokerage-synced holdings alike, but only on holdings the current page can still resolve. It is unavailable altogether while Select all is active, because assignment resolves each holding individually rather than by filter. Selection also persists as you page through the table, and a manual holding selected on a page you have since left can't be resolved back to its account - those are skipped with a warning naming how many, asking you to select them on the page they appear on. Brokerage-synced holdings are resolvable from any page.

Delete permanently removes the manual stock trades behind the selected holdings. Brokerage-synced holdings in the selection are skipped: correct those at your broker and let the next sync reconcile them. See Stocks.

Portfolios

Delete removes every selected portfolio. As with deleting one portfolio, the trades assigned to them become unassigned rather than being deleted. See Portfolios.

Brokerages

Only brokerage rows are selectable; the account rows nested under them are not.

  • Refresh re-reads the selected connections' feeds, the same as Refresh Data in a single row's action menu.
  • Disconnect removes the selected connections along with their accounts and every trade and stock holding synced from them. This can't be undone - read Disconnecting a brokerage before confirming a multi-connection disconnect.
