Product Tours
The guided walkthroughs that introduce each page the first time you open it, and how to turn them off or replay them.
The first time you open OptionsPro, and the first time you open each section after that, a short guided tour points at the real controls on the page and explains what they do. Tours are optional, take under a minute each, and never run twice on their own.
Product tours are only active when the feature is enabled for your account. If you never see a welcome prompt or a tour, that is why - nothing is broken.
The welcome prompt
On your first visit, a Welcome to OptionsPro dialog appears with two choices and no close button, so the decision is made once and remembered:
- Take the tour - starts the tour for the page you're on, and lets each other section introduce itself the first time you open it.
- Don't show tours - turns every tour off for your account. Nothing auto-starts after that.
The prompt also links to the OptionsPro Discord if you'd rather ask a person than read a tooltip.
Whichever button you pick, the prompt is marked as seen and doesn't come back unless you reset your tours.
Tours by page
Each of these pages has its own first-visit tour:
Dashboard, Calendar, Trades, Positions, Stocks, Strategies, Trends, Risk & Insights, Profit Calculator, Portfolios, Trade Import, and Brokerages.
Some of those tours only run once you're on Pro - Strategies, Trends, Risk & Insights, Portfolios, Trade Import, and Brokerages - because on a free account there'd be nothing to point at but the upgrade card. They become available as soon as you upgrade.
Before you have any trades
A tour that points at your P&L totals has nothing to highlight on a brand new account. So the pages that stay empty until data arrives - Dashboard, Calendar, Trades, Positions, Stocks, Strategies, and Trends - show a shorter variant instead: what the page is for, and where the buttons are that get data into it. Taking either version counts as having seen that page's tour, so neither comes back once your trades land.
Taking a tour
Each step highlights one element and explains it. The controls are:
- Next - advance a step. The last step's button reads Finish.
- Back - return to the previous step, from step two onward.
- Skip tour - leave at any point.
Skipping counts the same as finishing: the tour has had its one chance and won't auto-start again. Progress is stored on your account rather than in the browser, so a tour you've taken on your laptop won't reappear on your phone.
On a narrow screen the step text appears in a sheet at the bottom of the screen, and the page scrolls so the highlighted element stays visible above it.
The blue dot in the sidebar
A small blue dot next to a navigation item means that section still has a tour you haven't taken. Open the page and the tour runs; the dot clears once you've finished or skipped it.
Dots never appear if you've turned tours off, and never appear on Pro-only sections while you're on the free tier.
Turning tours off, and replaying them
- To turn them off after the fact, skip the ones that appear - each tour only auto-starts once - or choose Don't show tours if you still have the welcome prompt in front of you.
- To get them all back, use Reset Tours in Settings → User Preferences. That clears your tour history, re-enables tours if you'd disabled them, and brings the welcome prompt back on your next page load.
Resetting tours affects nothing but the tours themselves - no trade, setting, or connection is touched.
